Sand boarding

me sliding down a sand dune

Today, we went sand boarding in the Dorab National Park in Namibia.  It was SO MUCH FUN and a little bit scary.  Before we got to the desert we had to go on a bus to take us to the dunes.  It took maybe 10 -15 minutes to get there.  Once we got there we had to get on our equipment. ( helmet, gloves and elbow pads). Then, we had to walk up the sand dunes!  It was so not fun walking up. It was super super super hard work, but once up we got up there it was worth it.  First, you had to lie down on the board. Then, you have to pull the front of the up with your hands. You have to keep it up the whole time. If you don't you will get sand all in your face. ( like your eyeballs, ears, mouth and up your nose) After that, the guide would give you a little push and off you would go. Speeding down the dune.  It would only take a couple of seconds to get down.  We went went to different dunes #super tiring  but it was super fun. We were there for 3 hours just sand boarding and hiking of course.  At the end of the sand boarding we had lunch. We were covered in sand.
