Last days in Sun City :(

March 8th

Today, was one of our last days in Sun City.  We woke up 5:45am! Isn't that cruel?  The reason we got up that was because we were going on a game drive again. We drove around the park for a bit we saw 2 male lions. Guess what? They were walking on the road and walked right beside our car. They seemed to like the car.  😊

Then, we drove for a little while and we found more lions!  A pride (just females and cubs) of 17 lions!!!!!!  That is a huge pride!  So, in total we saw 19 lions....That's a lot of lions.

We drove a bit longer and found a hide.  A hide is where you get out of your car and you walk down a path and go into a small cabin like room with very small opening.  Then you watch and you watch and hopefully see something cool.  We saw hippos. Super cool.  We could see from the hide 2 rhino and some birds.  Then, we drove a bit to get a closer look at the rhinos. Next, we saw more rhinos with a tiny baby. It must have been a couple of months old.  We saw giraffe, kudo, impala and a black backed jackal.  Then,  we started driving up a hill.  My dad saw a tree shaking. It was an elephant butt attached a very big elephant.  Dun Dun Daa!  This is a scary story.  We watched the elephant for awhile when we was eating and he didn't seem to care. Then, he changed his mind!  He started to walk towards us and so my dad started to back up. No big deal, that happens.  BUT then he started to run, and run towards us. Flapping his ears and scrunching up his trunk.  He was not happy!  Dad backed up so fast. It was raining, we were on a bad dirt potholey road, going down a hill. That is not good. We thought we were going to get flipped!  Maybe get squished and die.  It was very scary. The elephant was so close he took up the whole windshield.  Phewf he stopped and took a poop.  Maybe he was constipated? lol that was a true story. Good thing were still alive.   Dad was able to back up and turn around.

We didn't get any pictures of him chasing us.

Next, we saw more kudos. There was a mom and her baby. It was soooooo cuuuuuute. Then we ended our game drive and went back to our room.

After lunch we went back to the Valley of the waves.  We stayed there for awhile. Mom went on the boomerang for the first time this year and she was screaming her head off.  I thought she was going to pee her pants!  It was a fun day.

March 9th

Today, is our last day in Sun City.  😢  We packed up and we decided to go on a segway tour. It was not boring it was fun.  You could go super fast, or super slow. (like my mom...she's a chicken.) We did that for about 1 1/2 hours. Let me tell you a story, my mom was going down a hill and she freaked out and fell off of her segway.  It landed in a ditch and mom was ok.  She still landed on her feet.  On the segway tour we went around the golf course and they took us to the crocodile pit.
There were 6 crocodiles there.  It was creepy.

Finally, we drove back to Pecanwood.

March 10th

Today, we to a place called BOUNCE.  It was a trampoline, american ninja warrior like place. There was even a warp wall. It was so much fun.  The rest of the day was filled with errands.

FUN FUN FUN in the SUN!

Lunch at the golf course

March 5th
Today, we drove to SUN CITY!  Sun City is a beautiful resort.  It backs onto Pilanesberg National Park.  (we can go on safari when we are here) The resort has, a water park with water slides, wave pool, lazy river (not fun), Chimp and Zee  which is a rope and zip line course, a casino, arcade, ten pin bowling, movie theatre, restaurants...it basically has everything!  When we got here, we found out room.  The room is great.  After that, we went to the pool. They have new water slides at the hotel pool!  It was amazing.  The yellow water slide goes really fast if you go on your knees and the blue one is painful if you go on your belly. Oh - we saw a peacock at the pool.  Next, we went and checked out the park and exercise park.  Finally, back to the room for dinner and went to bed.

March 6th

Today, we went to the Valley of the waves. It was so much FUN!  There are water slides, wave pools, lazy rivers and zip and rope course.  We rode some water slides.  I did one called the boomerang.  It is a very cool water slide and I will explain it to you when I get home.  We spent all morning at the water slides and then we had lunch.  After lunch, we decided to go zip lining and do the rope course.  It was so cool!  I think that the best part was going down the first zip line because we went over the lazy river.  The highest point was 19 feet and we zip lined over the wave pool.  After that, we went swimming to cool off and headed back to our room.  Then, we went to the park and workout park for awhile.  Finally, we came back to the room had dinner and went to bed.

March 7th

Today, we woke up early and went on a game drive (safari) to the Pilanesberg National Park. We saw giraffe, elephant, impala, zebra, a mom hippo with her baby out of the water, and rhino. Then, Nate, Mom and I went mini golfing.  I won!  It was so awesome.  Then, we went to the pool. It was actually really fun.  We played there for awhile.  Then, we came back to the room and did some homework and my blog.

We will be at Sun City until Friday.  I will make sure I bring my camera the next time we go to the valley of waves so you can see how cool it is.

Happy birthday Sydney.

Boat tour

Today, we went on a boat tour of the ocean. Before we got on the boat we had a big long bus drive to get to Walvis Bay.  When we got there, we had to wait a few minutes to get on our boat.  Then, when we got on our boat we set sail.  We saw seals, jumping around in the water.  Then, we went to seal colony. It smelled bad.  We watched the seals from a distance. Again, we saw more seals jumping, and playing. Then, we saw dorsal fins.  They were dolphins!!! We saw them jump out of the water. They did tricks and stuff. After that, we saw a little penguin swimming in the ocean.  We also saw a sun fish and lots of jelly fish.

Next, I tried raw oysters. Fresh out of the water.  I did not like it. I ran to the side of the boat and spat it out.  😣 I have tried baked oysters with cheese and spinach, they were good.

After that, we started going back.  A seal JUMPED on our boat!!! It had lost an eye.  😢  I got to pet the seal and the guide fed him fish.  The seal was stinky and wasn't that slimy. He was soft and wet.  It was a great day on the ocean.

Sand boarding

me sliding down a sand dune

Today, we went sand boarding in the Dorab National Park in Namibia.  It was SO MUCH FUN and a little bit scary.  Before we got to the desert we had to go on a bus to take us to the dunes.  It took maybe 10 -15 minutes to get there.  Once we got there we had to get on our equipment. ( helmet, gloves and elbow pads). Then, we had to walk up the sand dunes!  It was so not fun walking up. It was super super super hard work, but once up we got up there it was worth it.  First, you had to lie down on the board. Then, you have to pull the front of the up with your hands. You have to keep it up the whole time. If you don't you will get sand all in your face. ( like your eyeballs, ears, mouth and up your nose) After that, the guide would give you a little push and off you would go. Speeding down the dune.  It would only take a couple of seconds to get down.  We went went to different dunes #super tiring  but it was super fun. We were there for 3 hours just sand boarding and hiking of course.  At the end of the sand boarding we had lunch. We were covered in sand.
